Sorry if this article has already made the rounds, but I’m new to the blog-o-net. Also, I’m on Spring Break in Florida spending time with my lovely wife, so the content will be sparse for a bit.

I finished high school never planning on taking another math class again. Fortunately, my econ advisor urged me to take a couple more math courses, and I’m so glad he did. I was absolutely fascinated and decided to major in mathematics!
I’ve always kind of wondered what my math teachers did to me, and I think this essay goes a long way toward explaining that. At any rate, with this as a strong motivating factor, I’m starting a program in May to get certified to teach high school math in Milwaukee.
I read that thing when I flew to New York a couple weeks ago to speak at TEDxNYED. I finished it somewhere over Colorado, pissed that Lockhart had already said everything I planned on saying.
I think it got expanded into a book
